Windy Point, San Bernardino NF. Seven miles northwest of Palm Springs, CA. Grass. Moderate fire activity.
The fire was declared 100% contained at 6:00 p.m. on Monday September 26, 2011. Fire officials expect full control later this week as firefighters continue to patrol and extinguish hot spots within the fire perimeter.
At no time were structures, damaged, destroyed or threatened.

The Windy Point Fire is burning on the south side of State Highway 111 in the Santa Rosa and San Jacinto Mountains National Monument.
State Highway 111 has been re-opened in both directions.
No structures are currently threatened and there have been no firefighter injuries.
Minimal fire activity overnight. No increase in size is expected. Crews will be patrolling the fire's edge for any hot spots.
