Units are staging at Hwy 49 and Foresthill Road. The fire is on the Foresthill side of the ravine. Crews are making good progress. Heavy air support. No structures threatened. The fire was burning in steep terrain. There are no current evacuations.
Progress of the fire has been slowed midslope. Some air and ground resources were released. Firefighters continued reinforcing the line around the fire throughout the night, these efforts will continue today. Mopup operations are underway.
Full containment achieved on August 28, 2009.
