A 1.5 acre fire northeast of Stampede Reservoir (east of Truckee) is burning in timber and brush and was reported earlier this morning. Approximately 20 firefighters are on scene. The smoke is visible from both Interstate 80 and Highway 89.

The Stampede Fire has been contained and firefighting resources are being released. Mop-up is continuing. The cause is still under investigation.
