February 24, 2012 - The Department of Water Resources (DWR) has provided to the Delta Stewardship Council (DSC) maps and other information relating to the existing conditions of Delta levees. This information includes maps constructed by DWR indicating its best estimate of levee miles conforming to existing levee guidance and standards. In the interest of transparency, the DSC is making this information publicly available on its website.
Two large area maps are provided for public viewing. One map portrays a Delta-wide view of percentage of compliance with FEMA's Hazard Mitigation Plan (HMP) guidance, by individual island. The second map portrays a Delta-wide view of percentage of compliance with the US Army Corps of Engineer's PL 84-99 standard, by individual island. 93 individual island maps portraying levee status and construction activity are posted further down on this web page.
In addition to the maps provided, DWR has also provided supporting information, including transmittal documents, data summary tables, analytical assumptions and limitations, and disclaimers relating to the submitted information. We recommend that viewers of these map products read the accompanying materials to best understand the context and conditions under which DWR developed these items.
The Delta Stewardship Council makes no warranties, representations or guarantees, either expressed or implied, as to the completeness, accuracy or correctness of the data provided by DWR, nor accepts or assumes any liability arising from any incorrect, incomplete or misleading data. This data has not been reviewed or approved by the Council and is considered preliminary and tentative warranting future analysis and final decision-making support. Inquiries regarding the content of this information should be directed to DWR.
