Large Incident - A wildfire of 100 acres or more occuring in timber, or a wildfire of 300 acres or more occuring in grass/sage.
Wildland Fire - Any nonstructure fire, other than prescribed fire, that occurs in the wildland.
Wildland Fire Use (WFU) Fire - A naturally ignited wildland fire that is managed to accomplish specific prestated resource management objectives in predefined geographic areas outlined in Fire Management Plans.

The experimental Wildfire Automated Biomass Burning Algorithm (WFABBA) is currently generating half-hourly fire data for the Western Hemisphere. WFABBA usage on YubaNet.com with permission from UW-Madison CIMSS GOES Biomass Burning Monitoring Program.

California and Nevada

The geostationary NOAA weather satellite GOES-8 provides coverage for North and South America while GOES-10 covers North America only. The WFABBA is an extension of the ABBA.
