Agenda for a special meeting on Monday, June 30 2008 at 5:00 p.m. 317 Broad St. at City Hall - Beryl P. Robinson, Jr. Conference Room Nevada City, CA 95959.
ANY MEMBER OF THE AUDIENCE DESIRING TO ADDRESS THE COUNCIL OR COMMSION ON ANY ITEM ON THIS AGENDA: After receiving recognition from the Mayor, give your name and address, and then your comments or questions. Please direct your remarks to the Councilmembers. In order that all interested parties have an opportunity to speak, please limit your comments to the specific item under discussion. All citizens will be afforded an opportunity to speak, consistent with their Constitutional rights. Time limits shall be at the Mayor's discretion. IF YOU CHALLENGE the Council's decision on any matter in court, you will be limited to raising only those issues you or someone else raised at the meeting or Public Hearing described on this agenda, or in written correspondence delivered to the City Council at, or prior to, the meeting or Public Hearing. Requests for disability-related modifications or accommodations may be made to the City Clerk, by telephone or in writing. Requests should be made least 24 hours prior to the meeting.
Request for Placement of Items on the Agenda shall be received no later than 5 PM on the Monday one week prior to the scheduled meeting, earlier if significant staff work is required.
1. Subject: Consideration and Discussion of a Proposed Emergency Ordinance Prohibiting the Use of Fireworks for 2008 in the City of Nevada City.
Recommendation: Introduce the Ordinance, Waive the Reading of the full Ordinance and Adopt the Emergency Ordinance.
2. HEARING FROM THE PUBLIC: Comments on items NOT ON THE AGENDA are welcome at this time. However, action/or discussion by the Council or Commission may not occur at this time. Comments are limited to three (3) minutes.
