League of Women Voters Launches New Voting Public Service Announcement With Oscar(R)-Nominated Actress Virginia Madsen
New PSA Encourages Voter Registration and Turnout

By: League of Women Voters

WASHINGTON, June 3 - The League of Women Voters today announced the launch of a public service announcement (PSA) featuring Oscar(R)-nominated actress Virginia Madsen. The PSA, which highlights the importance of voting and voter registration in this historic election year, supports the launch of Freedom of Expression through Film -- a public awareness campaign aimed at educating voters to express themselves in life, politics and beauty.

The PSA encourages voters around the country to register to vote and visit www.VOTE411.org, the League's "one-stop-shop" for election information. VOTE411.org includes the only national polling place locator, general and state-specific information on voter registration, absentee ballot rules, early voting provisions, ID requirements, and much more. "Knowing where to go vote is among the most sought after pieces of Election Day information," said Mary G. Wilson, President of the League of Women Voters. "As a presenting sponsor of VOTE411.org this year, Allergan is supporting an extremely important national initiative."

According to Virginia Madsen, "I am thrilled to be partnering with the League, especially in this important election year. The Freedom of Expression through Film campaign and the new PSA encourage women to express themselves openly and honestly and underscore the importance of making educated, informed choices about life and beauty. It also incorporates two of my personal passions -- movies and participation in the political process."

"This election year is unlike any other in recent history. It has created a unique energy and excitement, particularly among women, which we are thrilled to see. Since the outcome of this election will directly impact the lives of all Americans, we are proud to be working side by side with Allergan and Virginia Madsen to encourage all Americans to get registered and express themselves on November 4th," Wilson concluded.

Find your state's voter registration form and get all of the information you need to participate in this year's elections at www.VOTE411.org. For more information about the League of Women Voters visit http://www.lwv.org/.
