A vegetation fire started at 11.06 pm on Sunday, August 19 near Ponderosa and Eagle Ridge Rd. in the general vicinity of Foresthill.

Size: 80 acres

Containment: 100 percent   Cause: arson (two ignition points)

Control: 08/21/2002

Latest update: Firefighters completed a line around the fire and are mopping up. Full control of the fire is expected tomorrow. Demobilization of the resources on site has begun. Rehabilitation of firelines, checking for hot spots and patrol of the line are today’s objectives.

• Ponderosa Way at the park entrance at the Weimar side is closed along with Eagle Ridge Way
