Beautiful Weekend to Follow Big Sierra Storm

By: Boreal Mountain Resort

Donner Summit, CA, (February 25, 2011) – Another snow storm is currently moving across Donner Summit dropping pristine powder at Boreal Mountain Resort. The recent storm is one in a line of systems which have marched across the summit in the past couple weeks. Boreal has already recorded 117" – 158" inches of snowfall during the month of February. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) is calling for the storm to clear tonight, giving skiers and riders the opportunity to enjoy all the new powder.

"The timing of the recent storms has been perfect for business," said Jon Slaughter, Boreal Marketing Director. "Boreal has been getting snow during the week and clear weather on the weekends, allowing guests to take advantage of the fresh snow." Cal Trans has been working around the clock to keep Interstate 80 open for mountain travelers. "Our hats go off to everyone at Cal Trans," says Shaydar Edelmann, Boreal Mountain Manager. "They have done a wonderful job keeping the interstate open and safe. I know all the skiers and boarders appreciate it too."

Boreal is open 7 days/week from 9am – 9pm, with 6 lifts and 41 trails plus plenty of deep powder. Snow tubing at Boreal's Playland Tubing Park is also available daily, plus open for night tubing on Friday and Saturday nights until 8pm.

Boreal Mountain Resort is the most affordable and accessible resort in Northern California. Located directly off Interstate 80, Boreal is only 90 minutes from Sacramento and 45 minutes from Reno.
