AUBURN Calif. February 17, 2012 - The Bowman Education Foundation incorporated to support the students, staff and curriculum of Bowman Elementary School in Auburn.
Bowman Elementary School, established in 1895, has provided education for students in Auburn area for generations. Expanding from its original one-room school to a campus that now services more than 500 students, it offers education to grades K-8th. In 2007, it became a charter school which allowed it to open its doors to children throughout the Auburn area.
With California facing economic and financial difficulties, the Governor and Legislators have had to make tremendous cuts to education around the state from elementary school through higher education.
The Bowman Education Foundation (BEF) incorporated as a partner for Bowman Elementary to help foster opportunities for the students at the school where the standard school resources cannot. BEF aims to collaborate with parents, students, faculty, alumni and philanthropic organizations to expand the opportunities for the children at Bowman Elementary which will allow them to grow, aspire and achieve.
"Our mission is to ensure that Ackerman Charter School District has the resources to provide every student with the highest quality education possible," David Slane, BEF President. "Today's children are tomorrow's leaders. We can improve our future by investing in our children's education today."
The Bowman Education Foundation is a 501(c) (3) non-profit entity and its Board of Directors can be reached by writing P.O. Box 7746 Auburn, CA 95604 or visiting www.bowmanedfoundation.org.
