BriarPatch Co-op elects five Directors

GRASS VALLEY May 16, 2008 - The BriarPatch Co-op Board Director election votes were counted Friday, May 16, by the League of Women Voters. The top vote-getters were: Peter Van Zant, Lew Sitzer, Joey Jordan, Debbie Plass, and Jeff Gold. Each secured the 25% of the ballots required to be seated. The new Directors will be seated at the Board's meeting on Monday, May 19, at 5:30 p.m. at the firehouse station classroom on Sierra College Drive, Grass Valley.

Fifteen BriarPatch owner-members stepped forward as candidates in the election for five open Board seats, for two-year terms. The 2008 election received far more votes than past BriarPatch elections, with 613 of the natural foods grocer's 3,127 current owner-members casting ballots.
