Camino May 9, 2008 - Unit Chief Bill Holmes today announced that starting Monday, May 12, 2008 at 8:00 a.m. CAL FIRE will transition into its summer preparedness levels for fire season in Amador and El Dorado Counties.
The declaration allows CAL FIRE to begin staffing fire stations and equipment on a 24-hour basis and hire seasonal firefighters to help protect California's wildlands.
CAL FIRE Amador-El Dorado Unit Chief Bill Holmes wishes to extend on behalf of all the employees of CAL FIRE the appreciation to those residents of Amador & El Dorado Counties who put forth an effort towards creating their 100 feet of defensible space.
"Each year we see disasters that could have been prevented," said Chief Bill Holmes. "CAL FIRE cannot stress enough that now is the time for all California residents to take action. Create defensible space around your homes, become involved in your local Fire Safe Council, and be extra careful when recreating in our wildlands this summer."

Hi There, my son, James Vincent, is currently fighting fires in the
Redding area and has asked me look after his jeep at Station 43. Could you
give me directions to that station? Thank you for everything!
