City of Grass Valley Schedules Public Information Workshops for the Proposed Idaho-Maryland Mine Project

The City of Grass Valley will be holding a series of community workshops on the proposed Idaho-Maryland Mine project. A description of the topics, dates, time and location of the workshops are provided below:
Purpose: The community workshops are planned workshops that are part of the City's public outreach program for the Idaho-Maryland Mine Project. Each workshop is designed to provide information on key issues of high public interest.
These workshops will be conducted prior to the release of the draft Environmental Impact Report (EIR).
Dates and Topics
1) Wednesday, January 23, 2008 between 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. Topics: Water Quality, Public Services and Hazardous Materials.
2) Wednesday, February 13, 2008 between 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. Topics: Reclamation Plans and posting of Financial Assurances.
3) Wednesday, March 12, 2008 between 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. Topics: Traffic, Project Alternatives and Cumulative Impacts.
Location: All three workshops will be at the L.O.V.E. Building in Condon Park, 660 Minnie Street,Grass Valley
Format of Workshop: While the primary purpose of the outreach program is to provide information to the interested public, questions and comments will also be welcomed. For all three meetings, the public will be given an opportunity to ask questions about the environmental setting and/or regulations affecting the project in order to gain a better understanding as to how the EIR will assess the project and its potential impacts.
