Saturday, September 06, 2008 - Entries are now being accepted for the Harvest Fair at the Draft Horse Classic, September 18 - 21, at the Nevada County Fairgrounds. The deadline to enter exhibits in the Harvest Fair is 5 pm on Friday, September 12, for Nevada County residents who want to enter their vegetables, cobblers, harvest pies, fruit, cut flowers, photos, produce characters, a scarecrow or any one of the more than 100 available categories.
Although all divisions may be entered by adults, youth, and teens, this year there are some new specialty categories for youth and teens. These categories include decoupage, Halloween masks, painting, poetry, painted pumpkins, and wreaths - just to name a few.
Exhibitors must either submit paper entry forms at the Fair office or enter online at the Fair's website at www.nevadacountyfair.com. There is no entry fee for those who enter an exhibit in the Harvest Fair, and all Harvest Fair exhibitors will receive two free tickets to the Thursday evening performance of the Draft Horse Classic. Exhibitors can also win a ribbon and a little bit of cash.
Complete descriptions of all Harvest Fair divisions and categories are available online at the www.nevadacountyfair.com, at the Fair's Office on McCourtney Road, or by calling the Fairgrounds Office at (530) 273-6217.
