November 22, 2013 - NCCFD received a call for a tree into a house, reported on fire. Crews arrived to find a large ponderosa pine into a structure with major damage to the home on the 13000 block of Winding Way.

Two small fires in the structure were extinguished quickly. The residents, two adults and four children, fortunately were not at home at the time of the incident.

Firefighters were able to salvage some personal items although much of their belongings were inaccessible due to the hazardous condition of the home.

The house was deemed unsafe to occupy by the Nevada County Building Department and is expected to be a total loss. The Red Cross was at scene providing assistance to the family.

B2,E86, E84, E88, E89 responded to the call.
