NEVADA CITY, Calif. February 28, 2011 - The effects of Friday's snow storm are lingering in Nevada County. PG&E reports 7,000 customers out in their Sierra Nevada region. Major outages include:
Grass Valley 2,688 customers without power
Nevada City 2,375 customers without power
Colfax 47 customers without power
Foresthill 53 customers without power
If customers have gone without power for more than 48 hours, they can call PG&E's special outage hotline (1-888-743-4743 or 1-888-PGE-4PGE) to speak with a service representative about their particular outage and the services available.
Agencies and services affected by the weather:
Sierra College is open.
Nevada City School District and Union Hill School District are closed.
Gold Country Stage/Telecare is running.
Durham buses are running except for Rattlesnake Road between Brooks Road and Highway 174, according to KNCO.
Tahoe National Forest Headquarter is closed.
Nevada County Government Facilities are open.
Highway 20 is open, with no restrictions.
Semis over 65 feet or with a kingpin to rear axle distance greater than 40 feet are prohibited from through travel on US 50 & SR 70 .
