This seminar will help attendees better understand avalanche beacon function and the advancements of these vital backcountry tools over the past few years. The seminar will last three hours, and will consist of an indoor and outdoor component, the majority of which will fall on education and field testing.
"We are firm believers in backcountry safety, education and most importantly, practice," says shop owner Brendan Madigan. "In many ways, we feel that a backcountry shop should act as an informational conduit to the backcountry community at large when it comes to avalanche conditions, snow quality, and more. Our free annual community avalanche seminars provides a forum for the community to refresh their knowledge and practice avalanche safety skills with some of the best resources in the world. It's a fun and informative evening, and we welcome backcountry enthusiasts of any ability level. Knowledge in the backcountry is key."
Attendees will also receive 15% off all avalanche beacons and accessories, as well as FREE upgrades on Pieps avalanche beacons.
Please bring your favorite beacon, a headlamp and appropriate clothing for cold weather. Food and drink provided.
