GRASS VALLEY, Calif. February 6, 2012 - The Grass Valley Wine Company will host a benefit for Tresa Honaker of AirAligned dance group this Friday, February 10th, from 5pm-9pm. Entertainment will be donated by the legendary local group, Travis & Blue Company. The Wine Co. will donate 25% of our profits in addition to all covers collected at the door. Additional donations are welcome!

On January 11th, Honaker fell 15 ft while practicing her aerial work causing permanent injury to her spinal cord. Although paralyzed from the waist down, Tresa hopes to continue her work teaching dance and aerial, choreographing and cutting hair. This may take some time and she will need financial support for ongoing medical expenses. Tresa was a founding member of The Movement Alliance Modern Dance Company and founder and current director of AirAligned aerial dance group. AirAligned was chosen as the recipient of the 2010 Dr. Leland and Sally Lewis Performing Arts Award, which is presented annually by the Nevada City Chamber of Commerce. Tresa is a contributing member of The Center for the Arts in Grass Valley and has been instrumental in the growth of children's performance workshops held at The Center.

We hope you can join us for a night of authentic Blues, local wine & support the Wine Co. in helping out such an inspirational member of our community. Please note the $5 cover will be donated to the benefit. Ages 21 & up only.

If you are unable to attend, donations can also be made on Tresa's website via PayPal or at Tri-Counties Bank (formerly Citizen's Bank). Please make checks out to Julie Lang, FOB Tresa Honaker.

The Grass Valley Wine Company is located at 128 Mill Street in historic, downtown Grass Valley. The tasting room and wine bar represents the union of three Nevada County wineries coming together to serve their wines in fun, relaxed environment for locals and tourists alike. The Wine Co. is comprised of Bent Metal, Pilot Peak and Solune, which together offer an impressive array of hand-crafted wines in a diverse range of varietals and styles. The Wine Co. is open Thursday-Monday with wine tasting available from 12pm-6pm. Every Friday & Saturday evening, we host live music and offer wines by the glass and light appetizers.
