January 24, 2013 - A weak frontal band moving through northern California brought anywhere from around an inch of rainfall to the northern coastal range to a few hundredths of an inch of rain to the northern San Joaquin valley. Snowfall over the Sierra has been light and snow levels are generally above pass levels so impact on travel has been minimal. Another weather system is forecast to move into northern California Friday afternoon. This system will be much colder but it also only expected to bring light precipitation.
