Multiple Vehicle Accident on LaBarr Meadows/Hwy 49

September 22, 2011 - Emergency Service personnel responded to a reported vehicle accident. Upon arrival, found four vehicles involved in the accident. Two adults and one child were injured in the accident. One adult required extrication. One patient was transported by ambulance to Sutter Roseville Hospital and two patients were flown by helicopter to Sutter Roseville Hospital and UC Davis Medical Center.

Highway 49 was initially closed in both directions due to the accident. After a short while, traffic was detoured onto the new construction area of Highway 49.

Agencies and engines responding: NCCFD Battalion Chief, NCCFD Engines 88 & 89, Grass Valley Engine 1 & Truck 2. Also responding: Two Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital Ambulances, 1 Air Ambulance, 1 CHP helicopter, CHP, Grass Valley PD. All units were released at 9:30 am.
