NCTV Launches Live Studio Broadcasting With Valentine's Day Lovefest

By: Nevada County Digital Media Center/NCTV

February 8, 2013 - A live webstream-and-cable TV broadcast from the newly rebuilt community television studio at Nevada County Television (NCTV) on Valentine's Day will celebrate the station's return to full production capability, according to Lew Sitzer, interim executive director at the Nevada County Digital Media Center.

"Anybody with internet or cable TV will enjoy music, poetry, interviews, Valentine messages and more from their Nevada County neighbors," said Sitzer. The program will be broadcast live from 5-6:30pm on Thursday, Feb. 14 and re-broadcast the same evening from 9-10:30pm.

Residents who can't view the program on Comcast Channel 11 or Suddenlink Channel 16 cable TV can view it by going to NCTV's website at www.nevadacountytv.org and following the links on the home page.

According to Sitzer, dozens of volunteers have worked to bring the studio facilities into full operating condition for the event, with a new set design by Tatiana Sferios and Sharon Rose and furniture contributed by local real estate agent Julie Cobden. A 5-by-6-foot painting of Hirschman's Pond in Nevada City, donated by local artist LeeAnn Brook, will serve as part of the set background. Valued at $4,000, the acrylic-on-canvas original will remain on the set until sold, with one-half of the proceeds benefiting the Media Center.

NCTV is Nevada County's public access community TV station, owned and operated by the non-profit Nevada County Digital Media Center. Classes on how to use both the main studio's new Tricaster "studio-in-a-box" and the new Mini-Studio's Boinx software are being scheduled now, call 470-0794 or visit www.nevadacountytv.org for more information.
