NEVADA CITY, Calif. November 15, 2010 - All absentee ballots for the 2010 General Election have been counted. Only a few provisional ballots remain to be incorporated, if they are deemed to be valid. Out of the 49,198 ballots counted, only 12,550 were cast at polling places on election day, another 36,453 were vote-by-mail (absentee) ballots. Nevada County's voter turnout for this election is now at 80%.

In the local non-partisan race for Treasurer/Tax Collector, Tina Vernon won over her opponent Dai Meagher:
