Nevada County Flu Shot Clinics

Oct. 10, 2008 - Nevada County Public Health Department will be holding community Flu Shot Clinics in October, November and December 2008. A $10.00 contribution is suggested for flu shots.

Also offered at these clinics are:

- Tdap (Tetanus and Pertussis) at $10.00
- Pneumovax (Pneumonia) at $40.00

We are encouraging those that have Medi-Care, Medi-Cal, or Health Insurance and
a medical home, to seek their flu shot at their physician's office.

Recommendations for California Flu Vaccine Program are:

- Anyone living with or caring for children 6 months to 5 years old
- Children ages 6 months to 5 years old
- Anyone 60 years of age or older
- Pregnant women
- Healthcare workers
- Persons with high risk medical conditions such as: Chronic Lung Disease including Asthma, Heart Disease
- Persons whose immune system is compromised by medications and/or HIV, Diabetes, etc.
- Anyone living with or caring for person(s) at high risk, including household contacts
