May 9, 2014 - The Nevada County Roads Maintenance Division is responsible for the condition and safety of the County's roads. While activities in winter months focus on general maintenance such as snow plowing and patching potholes, the road crews tackle bigger projects in the summer months. During the summer, the road crew staff is expanded with temporary employees to assist with traffic control on the larger projects. Many of the temporary workers have started and bigger projects are now underway.

Over the next week, Nevada County Road Maintenance crews will be working in the following areas:

Lowell Hill Road - Grading
Rattlesnake Road - Tree removal and clearing
Newtown Road - Shoulder grading
Tyler Foote - Mowing
Perimeter Road – Shoulder grading
Wolf Road at Retrac – pavement repair
Birchville Road – Brushing
