Nevada County Sierra College Earth Day April 22 - You're Invited

GRASS VALLEY April 17, 2009 - The Sierra College Nevada County Campus, located at 250 Sierra College Drive in Grass Valley CA, is celebrating Earth Day with a day of fun and inspiring events and invites the community to join with us. On Wednesday, April 22, 2009 from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., the campus will be filled with the sound of live music, displays, demonstrations, food and fun.

Participants of the fourth annual Earth Day Celebration on the Nevada County Campus in Grass Valley can enjoy healthy organic food for purchase from, Top Dog hot dogs, Lazy Dog Ice Cream Amy and Amber's Organic baked goodies.

A varied offering of live music performed by local artists like 2 hot 3 fast, Thomas Spellman, Earth Rhythms, Chris Olander, and Alishia & the South Yuba String Band. There will be dance performances by Movement Alliance Dance Troupe, the amazing juggling antics and inspiring story telling of Izzy Tooinsky and face painting by Penny the Clown.

There will be information and demonstrations of earth friendly practices by ecologically conscious local businesses and educational displays designed to enlighten and inspire any generation and generate young involvement. Earth Day Booth participants will offer information about climate change, generational connection and support, sustainable food practices and many other environmental and social issues including the Idaho Mary land gold mine.

The public is welcome and encouraged to participate in this free campus event. There is a $1 parking fee on campus. Permits can be purchased at the machine located at the entrance to the parking lot.
