Nov. 1, 2008 - Citizens Looking At Impacts of Mining (CLAIM-GV) is a group of locals whose goal is to distribute objective and timely information about the Idaho-Maryland Mine project in a brief, user-friendly manner. Today, CLAIM-GV proudly announces the public launch of its website and outreach campaign.
CLAIM-GV intends to become a 501c3 nonprofit. The group currently has six board members and more than fifty charter members.
While CLAIM feels that the proposed Idaho-Maryland Mine project is not a good fit for the community, the group realizes that the entire community needs a central place to find succinct, fact-based, and well-documented information on the project. With that goal in mind, CLAIM-GV invites you to visit its user-friendly web site, www.claim-gv.org so that you can see the issues and come to your own conclusions.
Soon, the group plans to extend its outreach to other formats, including printed media, to make it accessible to more of the community.
With the recent release of the Draft Environmental Impact Report, CLAIM-GV's focus will be on analyzing the document and updating the web site accordingly. The web site has been designed to quickly and clearly highlight the updates as they are made.
If you would like to help CLAIM-GV further its goals, donations are welcome. You can become a member online, or by sending $5 by mail.
