Off-Highway Motor Vehicle Recreation Commission To Meet in Sacramento on Thursday, July 16

July 14, 2009 - The Off-Highway Motor Vehicle Recreation (OHMVR) Commission will hold a meeting on July 16, 2009 in Sacramento, California. The Commission consists of nine members appointed by the Governor, Senate Committee on Rules, and the Speaker of the Assembly. They are charged with hearing the concerns and issues of the public related to off-highway vehicle recreation in California as well as providing input and recommendations for the California State Parks, OHMVR Program. The public meeting will be held beginning at 9:30 a.m. at the Holiday Inn - Capitol Plaza in the El Dorado Room at 300 J Street, Sacramento, CA 95814. The Commission will hear reports on, and address a number of agenda items including the following:

* The state budget crisis, pending budget proposals, and the possible impacts to the OHMVR Trust Fund.

* Review and consider program improvements and project needs related to the Grants Program, including taking input on improving the grant process.

* Discuss and consider adopting recommendations concerning the U.S. Forest Service's Travel Management process on 18 National Forests in California.

Public comment on these and other issues will be heard.
