February 21, 2012 - Placer County Sheriff's detectives are seeking the public's help in identifying a woman who has been passing counterfeit $100 bills throughout the county.

The woman was captured on surveillance videos in different businesses, passing the bogus bills. The bills look authentic and have the stripe printed on them so that when a clerk holds it up to a light source, the stripe and watermarks show up. But the back of the bill has the stripe and watermark clearly printed on it.

Anyone who knows this woman is asked to contact Detective Jim Hudson at (530) 889-7855. Anyone wishing to report information but remain anonymous and be eligible for a cash reward is urged to call Placer County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-923-8191 or go to their Web site at www.placercrimestoppers.com
