March 26, 2013 - The Placer County Sheriff's Office is asking the public's help in locating a missing Colfax man.

Ronald Russell, 76, was reported missing at noon today by his family. He was last seen yesterday at around 9:30 a.m. when he left his Sylvan Road home on foot. He was not carrying any identification or money. The home is in a remote area outside of the city of Colfax.

Russell, who may appear confused, was wearing a black down jacket or a tan leather jacket, black cargo-type pants and black tennis shoes. He has gray hair, which he usually wears combed back. In the past, he has hitchhiked to Colfax and Grass Valley.

He is 6 feet 1 inch tall and weighs 192 pounds. Anyone who locates Russell is asked to immediately contact the Sheriff's Office at (530) 886-5375.

Sheriff's search and rescue teams, including tracking dogs, are in the area or en route to Russell's home.
