Search for missing person near Boreal Ridge Successful

Update Missing person, Kevin Bradstreet Davis, was found alive, this afternoon at approximately 12:25 pm. He was spotted by representatives with the Air National Guard and was airlifted by CHP helicopter to the Tahoe Forest Hospital in Truckee, CA for medical attention. Mr. Davis exhibited signs of hypothermia but was in relatively good condition, although very hungry.
Mr. Davis was located approximately 1/3 of a mile NW of the Peter Grubb Hut, where he had last been seen on Tuesday, 3/2/10. He had found cover in a snow cave and was waving a blanket to get the attention of rescuers.
Resources involved in the search included, 80 search and rescue members, 4 snow cats, 7 snowmobiles, 2 helicopters (CHP & Air National Guard) and numerous members of local law enforcement agencies as noted below.
Mar. 4, 2010 - At 1500 hrs on Tuesday 03/02/2010, Kevin Bradstreet Davis (Age 28) of Tahoe City, CA was reported to be lost near Peter Grub Hut in the vicinity of Castle Peak on Donner Summit.
Mr. Davis was in a party of 4 snowshoeing and cross country skiing and became separated from his group after the party spent the night at Peter Grub Hut and were returning to their vehicles.
Nevada County Search and Rescue launched a hasty search, but tracks they found, believed to be Mr. Davis' tracks were quickly obscured by the snowfall.
Mr. Davis is described as a white male adult 6'0 180 lbs, bro hair and green eyes. Last seen wearing a black jacket, black ski pants, green hat and green backpack on snowshoes. Agencies participating in the search effort are Truckee Police Department, Sierra County Sheriff, Alpine County Sheriff, El Dorado County Sheriff, Placer County Sheriff, Tahoe Nordic National Ski Patrol, San Mateo County Sheriff, Amador County Sheriff, Contra Costa County Sheriff, California Highway Patrol, Cal EMA and The Air National Guard.
The search is ongoing as of 3/3/2010 at 2130 hrs. Anyone with any information on Mr. Davis' whereabouts is requested to immediately contact the Nevada County Sheriff's Department in Truckee, CA at 530- 582-7842.
