Sierra College Nevada County Campus Invites the Community to a "Chain-up" Event this Wednesday

Grass Valley, Calif. December 3, 2013 - On Wednesday, December 4, from 11 am – 2 pm, the Sierra College Nevada County Campus will host a FREE "Chain-up" event, and the public is invited! Participants will include:
Nevada County Office of Emergency Services
California Highway Patrol
Nevada County Public Works
Gold Country Transit
Nevada County Campus Associated Students of Sierra College
Nevada County Department of Transportation
Riebe's Auto Parts
Community members are welcome and encouraged to come participate in this valuable event, just in time for the coming winter storms. Demonstrations and instructions on proper installation of tire chains and cables will be offered, along with winter safety preparedness check lists, winter driving tips, and awareness of local agencies involved in winter weather response and collaboration.
There will be question and answer sessions with Gold Country Transit, Durham Transportation, California Highway Patrol, and Nevada County Office of Emergency Services. Demonstrations of snow traction device installation will be given every 30 minutes.
Riebe's Auto Parts will be checking windshield wiper blades, headlights, turn signals, and batteries. Participants will be treated to free hot dogs and sodas courtesy of Riebe's .
The Sierra College Nevada County Campus is located at 250 Sierra College Drive in Grass Valley, CA 95945. The event will be held on Parking Lot 1. The date is subject to change in case of inclement weather.
