December 12, 2012 - A Pacific Frontal system moving through northern California will bring snow to the Sierra today above about 4500 feet.
Enough snow has fallen to warrant chain controls over the major Sierra passes. Snow levels will fall this afternoon to between 3000 and 4000 feet.
Showers behind the frontal system will bring more snowfall into the evening hours with snow levels falling down to 2500 feet or low enough that some Sierra Foothills may see some light snow.
