TRUCKEE, Calif. (December 6, 2012) – Tahoe Donner Public Utility District is pleased to announce the winning candidates to sit on the TDPUD board for the next four year-term. The three open seats have gone to incumbent Joseph "Joe" R. Aguera, incumbent Jeff Bender, and new candidate Bob Ellis.
Aguera has sat on the PUD Board of Directors for 25 years. The extent of Aguera's experience with the PUD and his collaborative efforts to maintain access to quality utilities and keeping rates low have proven successful during his 25 year tenure with the PUD. Bender has sat on the PUD Board of Directors for four years, and runs a professional mechanical engineering firm specializing in green building techniques. His passion for sustainable energy and fiscal responsibility falls in line with the objectives of the PUD. Ellis will be serving on the TDPUD board for the first time, but he has served on several homeowner association boards in the past. Ellis also has a background in engineering and has been an active member of the Truckee community for the past 20 years, fulfilling multiple leadership positions in community organizations.
The TDPUD is a non-profit, publicly owned utility agency created in 1927 and overseen by a locally elected board of directors. TDPUD provides the greater Truckee area with reliable and high quality water and power services while guiding the community to conserve resources.
