January 17, 2013 - A Placer County teacher has been arrested for having an inappropriate sexual relationship with a former student.
Jennifer Lynn Woods, 35, was booked January 10 at the Placer County Jail on charges of sex with a minor and oral copulation with a minor. The 17-year-old male victim was a former student of Woods. Her employer, the Placer County Office of Education, contacted the Sheriff’s Office when they received information that she may be having an inappropriate relationship with a former student.
Woods, a Granite Bay resident, met the victim when he was a student of hers two years ago, but he has since transferred to another school. The relationship went on for one year, while the victim was 16 and 17 years old.
Woods’ bail was set at $100,000 and she bailed out of jail the day of her arrest.
