Town of Paradise: Rim Fire

update 6:00 p.m.This is a public information announcement regarding the heavy smoke in the Paradise area.
What & Where: Wildland burning in the Concow area, known as the Rim Fire. There is also a fire burning in the West Branch of the Feather River drainage on the east side of the river. The situation is being very closely monitored by fire personnel. The Town is standing by to assist the County and Cal Fire.
Cause: Lightning Strikes.
Public Safety threat, if any: Residents near Lake Concow are under a precautionary evacuation, which means there is no immediate danger but citizens should prepare for an immediate threat evacuation.
Residents are being evacuated to Spring Valley School at 2771 Pentz Road off of Highway 70.
Four roads closed:
1. Concow Road from Yellow wood Rd to n end of the pavement
2. Concow Rd from Nelson Bar Rd to the end of the pavement
3. Rim Rd aka Andy Mtn Rd from highway 70 to the end of Rim Rd
4. Deadwood Rd from Highway 70 to the Concow Rd
The Town of Paradise is closely monitoring the situation.
