Winter Weather Advisory in effect until 11 am Sunday - Snow Level to drop to 2,000 ft

March 17, 2012 - The National Weather Service in Sacramento has issued a winter weather advisory for snow, which is in effect until 11 am Sunday.

* Timing: Snow showers will continue overnight, with locally heavy snow possible in stronger showers.

* Main Impact: Winter driving conditions are possible in the Foothills.

* Snow Accumulations: 2 to 4 inches above 2500 feet, with locally up to an inch down to 2000 feet.

A winter weather advisory for snow means that periods of snow will cause primarily travel difficulties. Be prepared for snow covered roads and limited visibilities and use caution while driving.

Area: Motherlode including the cities of Grass Valley, Jackson

Affected Counties or parts of: Yuba, Plumas, Yolo, El Dorado, Amador, Calaveras, San Joaquin, Sierra, Alpine, Shasta, Tuolumne, Stanislaus, Sacramento, Placer, Solano, Butte, Colusa, Glenn, Sutter, Lake, Tehama, Nevada
