From YubaNet.com Regional NEVADA CITY, Calif. May 19, 2010 - The Nevada County Planning Commission will hear final arguments on Blue Lead Mine LLC's vested right to mine next Thursday, May 27. In the meantime, Tucker White, the owner of the Red Dog property and would-be gold miner, is busy selling mining claims and equipment via Eureka Mining Company, which he owns and operates using the same P.O. Box as Blue Lead Mine LLC. Eureka Mining Inc is a full service mining company based in Nevada City, Califronia [sic]. Inconsistent Descriptions and Numbers On the Eureka Mining site, the proposed Blue Lead Mine is described as a commercial operation with a 50-year life cycle. "We will be mining and [sic] estimated 3 million yards of bulk material," the description reads. However, the incomplete reclamation plan for Blue Lead, filed in Nevada County in 2009, states: Anticipated Start-up: Spring 2010. Anticipated Termination: Fall 2030. Approximately 4.5 million cubic yards of ore (gravel) will be mined for gold extraction. The reclamation plan has not been discussed by the Planning Commission, since county staff requested clarification on over 50 points in December of 2009, but no additional information has been filed as of today. A Small Family Operation or Commercial Operation? Contrary to the statement on the Eureka Mining website, during the March 25 Planning Commission hearing Bob White, the project applicant, said that: "he is not a miner but he hopes to be. He said this is a family project" (page 11 of the draft minutes) During the various hearings before the Planning Commission regarding the Blue Lead Mine, Eureka Mining Company has never been mentioned. Tucker White returned a call from YubaNet requesting information on Eureka Mining, but he declined to answer any questions.
