TRUCKEE, CA, Nov. 4, 2016 – The Truckee Donner Public Utility District, Northstar Community Services District, Placer County Water Agency, Town of Truckee, Nevada County and Placer County (local SGMA agencies) are holding a public meeting to present and receive comments on the Martis Valley Groundwater Basin (MVGB) alternative submittal and the process for compliance with California’s Sustainable Groundwater Management Act of 2014 (SGMA).

The public meeting will be attended by local SGMA agency staff along with representatives from a licensed engineering firm hired by the local SGMA agencies to certify the MVGB alternative submittal.

The public meeting is scheduled for Monday, Nov. 14 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and will be held in the Truckee Donner Public Utility District’s board room at 11570 Donner Pass Road in Truckee, Calif. Refreshments will be served.

Information on SGMA, the requirements for an alternative submittal, and a report certifying that the MVGB has operated within the sustainable yield for at least 10 years will be presented. This public meeting is an opportunity to learn more about SGMA and to provide comments and feedback on the alternative submittal and the SGMA process.

The local agencies have collaborated on the MVGB alternative submittal to comply with SGMA regulations.
