The fire is burning in brush and timber at a moderate rate of spread. Some structures are threatened. Plumas National Forest and CAL FIRE resources have been assigned to the incident.

The fire was discovered by the University of Nevada, Reno Babbitt Peak fire cam at 5:33 pm on April 26, 2018.
