Better mapping has reduced the Omega Fire perimeter to 66 acres. Firefighters made great progress overnight, containment is up to 80%.

Update with CalFire OmegaFire is 10% contained, reported at 80 acres with 1 destroyed residence and two damaged residences.

If you are under evacuation El Dorado Sheriff’s deputies will come knock on your door. Always a good idea to be ready.
What is the containment percentage for the two fires? I live in El Dorado Hills, off White Rock and Latrobe/El Dorado Hills Blvd.

One question…. on the fire info pages none of the maps are displaying. This has been happening since Sunday (I think). Is there a setting on your site I need to turn ON to get the maps again?

We live directly across the hill from where the fire started. We watched as the fire spread up and over the hillside. 2 to 3 planes (I believe the large one was a 727 who made several large fire retardant drops) from 3:30 pm on with helicopters grabbing up pond water near by kept this fire from really raging. After dusk the ground crews worked through the night with dozer and chainsaws going. We watched them work non stop from our deck. Bless them so much! We can’t thank them enough for what they do. I’m hearing we are 80% containted and power is back on west of the burn site. Again BIGGEST THANK YOU to all crews involved.
