Mop up continued today with crews working to back-haul trash and hose to drop points. Firefighters will maintain an active patrol of the fire’s perimeter throughout the day.

Minimal fire activity is expected today despite warmer temperatures. Increase in acerage is attributed to more accurate mapping. Damage assessement is complete. Firefighters will work on direct line improvement and mop up in all divisions.

Overnight firefighters took advantage of favorable conditions to build additional control lines. With the anticipated hotter and drier weather conditions, firefighters will continue to work diligently today mopping up and removing hazard trees where control lines have been completed. A complete damage assessment is in progress

Crews worked overnight building new containment lines. Mop up and removal of hazard trees will continue where control lines have been completed. Challenging terrain has the potential to create additional fire growth. Deep Marine layers in the morning and overnight will provide favorable firefighting conditions.

Firefighters worked diligently constructing control lines and made significant progress containing the fire. Challenging terrain has the potential to create additional fire growth. Suppression efforts will be directed at life safety and property conservation. Crews will work through the evening to bolster control lines and mop up.

Firefighters worked through the evening strengthening control lines and mopping up. The fire had little forward progress last night however, gusty winds this afternoon will create the potential for significant runs. Firefighters will remain vigilant throughout the day to maintain control lines and control spotting. Cañada Road is closed from Highway 152 to Gilroy Hot Springs

Fire is making runs when in alignment with terrain and wind. Structures remain threatened. Evacuation orders remain in place. Henry Coe State Park and Canada De Los Oso Ecological Preserve remain threatened. Access and terrain continue to hamper control efforts. Cal Fire IMT-6 (Veik) is in Command.

Latest update shows the fire at 1,500 acres and 15% contained. Active fire behavior was reported overnight. Structures remain threatened. Evacuation orders remain in place. Henery Coe State Park and Canada De Los Oso Ecological Preserve are threatened. Cal Fire IMT-6 (Veik) has been ordered.
