SACRAMENTO – Senate President pro Tempore Toni G. Atkins (D-San Diego) and Assembly Speaker Anthony Rendon (D-Lakewood) released the following statement following the Legislature’s passage of the 2022-23 state budget bill:

“Today, the Senate and the Assembly passed a budget that puts California’s wealth to work for individuals, families, and businesses throughout our state. Our budget includes funding for rebates to help consumers who have been struggling with high prices, and it includes record-high reserves to protect California during future economic slowdowns. The budget passed by the Legislature today is the result of months of often grinding work and negotiation by our budget committees, subcommittees, and staff, and includes elements of the Governor’s budget proposals from January and May. Along with all of our colleagues who voted for the budget, we have once again honored the deadline set for us by the Constitution. We look forward to working with the Governor in the coming days to ensure we have a responsible budget in place for the start of the fiscal year that delivers prosperity and strengthens the future.”
