April 25, 2018 – With 25 years in law enforcement, combined with his experience in the Nevada County Sheriff’s Office, Bill Smethers has proven himself an exceptional leader and has gained the endorsements of ten Northern California Elected Sheriffs.

Sheriff Keith Royal – Nevada County

Sheriff Tim Standley – Sierra County

Sheriff Kory L. Honea – Butte County

Sheriff Steven L. Durfor – Yuba County

Sheriff Adam Christianson – Stanislaus County

Sheriff  Willian F. Honsal – Humbolt County

Sheriff Tom Bosenko – Shasta County

Sheriff Richard L. Warren Jr. – Glenn County

Sheriff Douglas A.  Binnewies – Mariposa County

Sheriff Jon E. Lopey – Siskiyou County

These law enforcement leaders have chosen to stand behind Bill in his bid for election to the position of Nevada County Sheriff because of his experience within the Sheriff’s Office. It is a strong testament that these leaders who serve our neighboring communities all agree that Bill is the right choice as our next elected Sheriff.

Bill has proven fiscal, administrative and personnel management experience in patrol procedures, jail operations, court security, criminal and coroner investigations, search and rescue, animal control, school safety, drug enforcement and public administration.

He has managed 170 employees and over 100 volunteers within the Sheriff’s office.

Our neighboring Sheriffs understand the caliber of leadership and experience Bill brings to the Office of the Sheriff and welcome the opportunity to work with him in the future.

Elect Bill Smethers Sheriff, 2018

One reply on “Bill Smethers is endorsed by ten current elected Sheriffs in Northern California”

  1. Endorsements matter and this one from ten sheriffs who serve in rural counties matters a lot. Their endorsement along with the men and women in the Nevada County Deputy Sheriff’s Association, Correctional Officers Association, and Firefighters Association should be considered when voting for sheriff. Looks like they ALL want to work with a new generation sheriff, Bill Smethers.
