April 7, 2017 – A letter was sent to the Nevada Irrigation District (NID) Board signed by the Federation of Neighborhood Associations, League of Women Voters, and the South Yuba River Citizens League back on April 6, 2016.

We respectfully requested that NID video broadcast and live stream its board meetings in the interest of openness, transparency and community relations. Unfortunately, after a year of negotiations, the NID declined our requests.

At the  NID  Administrative Practices Committee meeting on April 4th, I asked Members Wilcox and Morebeck to put the video taping of their meetings back on the agenda.

To let them know that I am serious I have decided to ask people to FILL THE ROOM at the next NID meeting on April 12th at 9:00 am on 1036 West Main Street.

Grass Valley NID has a small parking lot and most of the spaces are taken up with NID cars and trucks. Because it is spring break we can use the school parking lot across the street. Watch for signs if the NID lot is full. Please show up and let NID know we want transparency, they need to let us know how they are spending taxpayer and rate payers money.
