The Nevada County Board of Supervisors (BOS) proclaimed March 2022 as Youth Art Month in Nevada County. Superintendent of Schools Scott Lay presented the three goals of the Strategic Arts Plan 2020-2025:

  1. Supporting Schools to Understand and Use the Arts Standards & Framework
  2. Coordinate Resources to Support Arts Education
  3. Ensure the Sustainability of Arts Education in Nevada County

As a part of Youth Art Month, private and public schools across Nevada County will be invited to hang student artwork from grades K-12 in the upstairs landing and second floor hallways of the Eric Rood Administrative Center from March 4 to May 27, 2022. Not only does the proclamation raise awareness for art education but it also is widely admired by the public and staff alike.
