October 22, 2019 – Over the weekend the Nevada County Sheriff’s Office was made aware of a camp counselor with Gateway Mountain Center who was alleged to have acted inappropriately with multiple teenage females. Six female camp guests (12 to 14 years old) reported being inappropriately touched by a camp counselor trainee, identified as 29-year-old Joshua Solt from Truckee. It is alleged Solt touched the females while the females were guests of the camp.
On October 21st, 2019, Detectives from the Nevada County Sheriff’s Office contacted and interviewed Solt. In the course of the investigation, detectives learned Solt had a history of being terminated from employment subsequent to allegations he acted inappropriately with female juveniles.
Solt was arrested and booked into Nevada County Jail on three counts of 288(a)PC (lewd and lascivious acts with a minor under the age of 14), and one count of 288(c)(1)PC (lewd and lascivious acts with a minor and being at least 10 years older than the victim). Solt is currently being held on $105,000 bail. Anyone with additional information is requested to contact the Nevada County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit.
