December 11, 2019 – My name is Daniela Fernández and I’m excited to announce my bid for City Council of Nevada City. I’m committed to making sure all Nevada City residents are heard and that my decisions reflect the will of the people. For the last 15 years I’ve worked in social services with a variety of different communities- seniors, adults with disabilities, queer youth, people of color, and incarcerated women and their families. I currently work for the local non-profit Connecting Point supporting the independence of seniors and people with disabilities. I am proud of my role as a community advocate and am committed to leveraging my voice in service of all Nevada City residents.
I’m honored to be endorsed by Nevada County Democrats and The Democratic Women’s Club. Chair of Nevada County Democrats, Peter Minett says, “Our Nevada County Democratic party is excited to endorse Daniela Fernández for Nevada City’s Council. Daniela brings a lot of energy, intelligence and a commitment to Nevada City. Her youth also bodes well for Nevada City going forward.”
I’m ready to bring my advocacy skills to the table on behalf of Nevada City, its residents, neighborhoods, and businesses. As your representative I will be dedicated to finding solutions to the issues our town faces: maintaining the vitality and integrity of Nevada City, wildfire prevention and preparedness, supporting businesses and residents during Public Safety Power Shutoffs, homelessness, parking, and measures to support and enhance our business communities.
I feel extremely fortunate to live and work here in this glorious foothills community. I have the energy and skills to make a difference. Thank you and don’t forget to vote March 3, 2020.
