Everywhere you turn these days a discussion or article about A.I. (Artificial Intelligence) is commonplace. This month’s Community Forum will discuss the impact of A.I. upon the workplace and societal implications with three local leaders in the A.I. Revolution.
Former Chief Information Officer (CIO) for the County of Nevada Steve Monaghan, Technology Lawyer Eric Little and CSU Professor and A.I. Guru Sasha Sidorkin will be the featured guest speakers at the upcoming Community Forum on Tuesday, February 24.
Retired Nevada County Superintendent of Schools, Terry McAteer, will serve as moderator of this month’s program. This free, one hour event will be held on the Sierra College Nevada County campus from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 in the auditorium, room N-12.
“This Forum should be of interest to all residents because we are entering a new phase of technology which will be transformative in all aspects of society,” said Forum Moderator Terry McAteer. “I believe understanding the power and uses of A.I. is essential for everyone to know so we can be knowledgeable consumers.”
Steve Monaghan, one of the panelists agreed by adding, “I think the public needs to be aware of the positive and negative sides of this technological innovation as this is a powerful tool which offers great potential and also some very concerning areas.”
Sponsored by the Sierra College Foundation’s Nevada County campus, the Community Forum hosts an hour-long, in-depth speaker series multiple times a year, discussing local issues and topics of interest to both our community and neighboring counties.
Each of these speakers series is free, open to the public and free parking is provided by the college.
