December 4, 2018 – The Camp fire has numbers that are mind numbing; scores dead, scores still missing, 18,000 structures lost, 150,000 acres burned.

We have all seen the video of the event that looked so unreal that it could have been a computer-generated product of DreamWorks. Instead it was the nightmare that all foothill communities fear and work so hard to prevent.

In the tens of thousands of individual stories there is one aspect that is no surprise but that does not diminish the tangible demonstration of love for community and dedication to duty.

The fire personnel and all first responders who lived in the middle of the fire storm who while their families were fleeing the disaster and as their homes burned stood their ground. Throwing what resources, they could against the worst fire California has ever seen to buy time for Paradise to get out.

The Alta Sierra Property Owners Association and our partners at the Alta Sierra Country Club have worked hard to support our first responders. From the community wide fire drills with fire departments across the region working in Alta Sierra, to our Thank A Firemen celebration and spending real money on the greater community evacuation infrastructure.

Given that the Alta Sierra Country Club in partnership with the Alta Sierra Property Owners Association are sponsoring a GIANT ALL DAY fund raiser to the benefit of the Bute County Burned Benevolent Fund to honor the Firefighters who lost homes.

It will be December 9th 2018 at the Alta Sierra Country Club from Noon to 6 PM.

The price will be $14.99 plus tax and tip. There will be a no host bar. All food proceeds go to the Butte County Burned Benevolent Fund.

While the event runs all day, the goal is to turn the seats over at least 3 times to maximize the MONEY, MONEY, MONEY for the cause! There will be plenty of other spaces in the club for folks to socialize before or after they eat.

When you call the Alta Sierra Country Club office at 273-2041 you will need to identify a two-hour window for your reservation. Tell those hard-working staffers if you want a 12-2 PM, 2-4 PM or a 4-6 PM window for your reservations. We are all in this together.

Chef David’ has magnanimously put together a menu that gives you significant value for money not withstanding the money is for our folks in blue!

– Fresh Backed Garlic Bread
– Hearty Red Meat Sauce
– Creamy Rich Alfred Sauce
– Gourmet Meat Balls
– Fresh Penne Pasta
– Mouthwatering Vegetarian Lasagna
– A Delightful Desert Bites Bar

Beyond your admission price, check or gift card donations are gratefully welcome, NO cash or credit cards.

The Alta Sierra Property Owners Association and the Alta Sierra Country Club have again partnered to have a Banquet and Golf Tournament fundraiser to buy the color-coded evacuation signs for Alta Sierra. We will also co-host another Thank A Firefighter event for Cal Fire with a Golf Tournament fundraiser as well as a Thank Alta Sierras Law Enforcement, the California Highway Patrol and the Nevada County Sheriff’s Office next year.
