December 3, 2018 – Nevada County Child Welfare Services has distributed their annual “Christmas Giving Tree” at different locations throughout Nevada County. Every December, Nevada County Child Welfare Services works with community service providers and partners to collect and donate Christmas present for children in foster care. This annual tradition brings joy and happiness to all the foster children who deserve the communities support and acknowledgement.

How it Works

Each “Christmas Giving Tree” has tags for each child currently in foster care. The tags include the child’s age, gender and some of their current interests or wishes. Community members are encouraged to simply take a tag, shop for the identified items and return the tag and donations of unwrapped gifts back to the Christmas Giving Tree location or to the Child Welfare Office located at 988 McCourtney Rd Grass valley, CA 95949 by December 18, 2018. The presents will then be wrapped and distributed to each foster child by Christmas.
